Representative Matters
  • Successfully represented Burger King, as first chair, before the High Court of Delhi to secure India’s first ccTLD domain blocking order against websites indulging in fraudulent activities.
  • Successfully represented Vistara and T-Series, as first chair, and secured orders of permanent injunction and seven figure damages amounts in cases of IP infringement before the Delhi High Court and a district court of Delhi respectively.
  • Defended Vistara before the High Court of Delhi in a trademark infringement suit by demonstrating non-trademark use, non-distinctiveness and descriptiveness of the plaintiff’s registered trademark.
  • Represented Vistara before the High Court of Delhi in a writ which clarified the role of the Trade Marks Registry in determining a mark as well known under the scheme of Indian trademark law.
  • Represented Burger King against the defendants’ prima facie untenable challenge to the invalidity of Burger King’s registrations before the High Court of Delhi and the Supreme Court.
  • Secured a dynamic-plus injunction for Burger King from the High Court of Delhi for websites indulging in demonstrably fraudulent activities.
  • Representing Choice Hotels in trademark dispute resolution, mediation, and prosecution, including in its dispute with Oyo Hotels.
  • Representing Kanpur Flowercycling (Phool) in IP enforcement, including trade dress, copyright and trademark litigation.
  • Successfully represented T-Series against RBEP Entertainment in a complex contractual and copyright infringement dispute involving questions of assignment and unlawful termination.
  • In a previous role, represented Exxon Mobil before the Supreme Court to clarify principles of territorial jurisdiction in trademark disputes for foreign companies in relation to the location of its Indian subsidiary.
